“Preferred” Room Category Coming to Saratoga Springs

By Kristen Tutas / February 5, 2016

Along with the release of the 2017 DVC point charts came new room categories at Saratoga Springs. Beginning in 2017, owners can choose between booking a “Standard” room or a “Preferred” room. Full details have not officially been announced but there is a notice on the DVC member website when attempting to book Saratoga Springs for 2017 travel dates:

“Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa will introduce a Preferred category for 2017, which will include all vacation homes in Congress Park and The Springs. If you’re making reservations with a check-in date in 2016 and check-out date of January 2, 2017 or later, and you would like to reserve Congress Park or The Springs, please contact Member Services directly to book your reservation. You may continue to book online if you have no location preference or if you do not wish to stay in Congress Park or The Springs.”

The preferred units will be located in “The Springs” and “Congress Park” areas which are shaded in red on the resort map below. These units are closer to The Carriage House with quicker access to the newly enhanced Disney Springs and will require a few more points per night. Point requirements will range from as few as two additional points per night for the Adventure Season Studio units up to 19 additional points per night for a three-bedroom Grand Villa during the Premier Season.

Saratoga Springs Preffered Units

Some good news for those who would rather stay in the Paddock, Carousel or Grandstand units: point requirements  will be slightly less for your 2017 travel dates. A week in a two-bedroom unit during Dream Season will require 269 points for the week in 2016 but if you choose a Standard unit in 2017, you’ll only need 248 points. This is great way to make your DVC points stretch a little further. To view the points charts for 2016 and 2017, visit our Saratoga Springs Resort page.
