DVC resorts rank highest on a list released Friday grading timeshares based on how popular they are and the prices they fetch on the resale market. Sharket.com, a Celebration-based timeshare market research website, compiled the list based on their “Saleability Score,” a method used to measure the liquidity and marketability of each resort based on actual sales data samples within a specified timeframe.
“Of the more than 1,400 resorts reporting sales in the Sharket database, only seven earned a perfect 10 Saleability Score, a proprietary score calculated by Sharket based on resale price and number of resales, and six are Disney Vacation Club resorts,” Sharket said in the news release.
To no surprise, Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa takes the No. 1 spot as the timeshare resort with the most saleablility. Other Disney resorts in the top 10 include Bay Lake Tower, Animal Kingdom Villas, Old Key West, Boardwalk Villas, Beach Club Villas, Villas at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, and the Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian.
“Disney Vacation Club timeshares continue to enjoy a high number of sales and high median prices compared to almost any other resort,” said Bob Schmidt, Sharket’s Chief Data Office, in a news release. “Disney resorts have a much higher number of resales. Disney’s Saratoga Springs for example chalks up an incredible 1,021 resales on an annualized basis, more resales per year than any other resort, and the number of Saratoga Springs’ resale transactions represents an increase of 20 percent compared to the data for last year’s ranking,” Schmidt says.
