A view of the Fantastic information found in the book

FireWorks2.jpg

Do:

·         Stay “On-Property”

·         Decide what you can afford

·         Figure out how much time you will
be in your room

·         Research to see what type of theme
resort best fits the needs of your family

·         Make your resort reservation as early as possible.
You only need to pay one nights deposit when you
make the reservation, and they will refund it if you
cancel outside of 5 days prior to arrival.  It is best to
make your reservation way in advance for the resort,
room type and view while you can.
You can always change it later.

·         Take advantage of all the benefits of staying “On-Property”

Don’t:

·         Wait until a few months before your trip to pick your resort.
You may be disappointed to know that the resort, room type,
or view you wanted is unavailable.

Many more tips like these are in the book

Chapter 4:  Making the most of
your time at the Parks

In order to maximize your time at the parks,
you must begin your strategy first thing in
the morning.  Get to the parks early!
If you do not adhere to this, your trip will be
set up for disappointment right from the beginning.
Most books have touring plans and such, but
the majority of these plans will not work
during the peak seasons.  Some offer the
“commando style” touring approach that, unless
you are a marathon runner, have no kids, or don’t
care to actually enjoy Disney, work just fine.
Who wants to have to race from ride to ride or
stick to a strict schedule while on vacation?

The problem that I have found........ Chapt. 4

Disney World Trip Report

WDW TRIP REPORT: By Jordan Michael

Saturday, Day 1 - 2/2 – No Disney hotels were available (other than mega-buck suites) for this night, so we stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn.  After our early dinner we headed to Epcot to see Illuminations, and ride the “new” Spaceship earth. When we got to Epcot we realized our passes were back in the hotel room so we had to get new Annual Passes. The line was long so we didn’t get into Epcot for some time.

The very first thing we did was ride the new SSE (Spaceship Earth). I thought it was good, but I thought they would change more. They added a couple scenes and refurbed the old ones. I think the refurbs are good.   I was expecting more differences, but the narration was almost the exact same as the one before only with minor changes. The only major change was that instead of Scar narrating it, M from the latest James Bond movie led us on our journey.  The ending (which I won’t give away) was a great touch using recent technology to  personalize the experience. Once we got off SSE we hung out in the post show area and looked at some of the interactive things they had to do. Some of it was actually pretty cool, like the “green energy” game and the 3-D body game.

We, then, went to get a place for Illuminations. We got our spot, on the sloped concrete area facing the pond.  I was kind of disappointed because we weren’t very close to the front. I really wanted to take some pictures of the fireworks, so I wished we could have been closer, but when fireworks started it was almost perfect.  We weren’t too close but we weren’t too far away. The show was amazing as always. We stayed around the area, (allowing me to take some pictures.  While they were waiting, my Mom, Dad and sister looked through some of the telescope to view the World Showcase.  The lens quality on those is quite amazing.  It was a nice relaxing evening with no rushing around, and no running to attractions.  READ MORE

About the Book

“The book is published....but what is it about?” by Scott Donahue

My book entitled, Walt Disney World Peak Seasons: Maximizing your Disney Vacation, is now published and available online at stores such as Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com, and Borders.com to name a few.

The big question I have been receiving is what is the book about?  The book is for anyone who has to vacation at Walt Disney World during Easter/Spring Break, summer, or Christmas.  These are the most crowded times of the year at Walt Disney World, and many visitors are not properly prepared to tour the parks and deal with the overflow of guests.

Walt Disney World Peak Seasons: Maximizing your Disney Vacation provides the guests with tips and advice on how to make the most of your vacation during these seasons.  It also gives planning information for travel, dining, and what type of tickets to order.

Walt Disney World Peak Seasons: Maximizing your Disney Vacation is geared for families that have never vacationed or are making their first or second trips to Walt Disney World during a peak season.  The best thing about this book though, is that while the focus is for a begining at Walt Disney World, there are tips that can even help a Disney veteran maximize their time.

The peak seasons are a “whole new world” for families who are accustomed to vacationing at Walt Disney World during the months of January, February, or September.  During the peak seasons you must have a general plan ahead of time if you wish to maximize your time at Walt Disney World.

I hope that you find that Walt Disney World Peak Seasons: Maximizing your Disney Vacation truly provides you with a different outlook on vacationing at Walt Disney World during any peak season.  You can have a great time regardless of the crowds, and this book should be able to provide you with ideas to help you maximize your time on your vacation.

"I didn't realize October was a Peak Season"

As you know I can only travel to WDW during the Peak Seasons.   But my wife and I decided we may be able to make a quick weekend trip to the World in October.   We set up flight reservations and then called to use our DVC points.   "NO AVAILIBILTY" we were told.   This couldn't be correct as there are rooms, albeit expensive ones, during Spring Break and Christmas.   So I decided to call and make regular room reservations.       I was told the same thing, "NO AVAILIBILITY".   I then trecked over to the WDW website to look.     Nothing again.   So now what to do.

I called WDW again and asked why there was nothing available.     They told me that this weekend does get crowded historically and to continue to try.     I finally managed some ressies at PO Riverside.   Throughout this ordeal someone told me that maybe I need to "update my site to include this month-or at least this weekend- to my Peak Seasons."   I think they were correct.

Long story short, we decided rather than rush a trip, we will hold out for our Christmas, Spring Break, and Summer trips, then plan EARLY next year for an October trip.   The good news is that Orlando hosts a PKD Walk (www.pkdcure.org), the   condition of     which our youngest has, on the opening weekend of MNSSHP, if the dates hold up.     So hopefully we can get to Orlando for the walk and if we have some time, head over to WDW.

The bottom line is PLAN, PLAN, PLAN!!   Don't wait until the last minute.   Even a so called Disney Peak Season expert like myself can learn a few things.   So those of you who can get to WDW in October enjoy it for us, and hopefully we can see you real soon!

Easter Week…How crowded is it really?

To get straight to the point…It seems like everyone!  Walt Disney World is a perfect destination for those of us who are from up North and need a warmer vacation to help recover from the long winter.  Many people throughout the country can travel during this time because most schools offer a week or so of vacation time.  With the kids out of school, and perfect weather, it marks the opportune time to head to Walt Disney World.

There can be in the neighborhood of 250,000 people on the Walt Disney World property during Easter Week.  We have seen the parks on certain days close to the public because they are at capacity.  Since we are talking about Spring Break, Easter Sunday is the one day that Magic Kingdom will fill to capacity by about 11:00 AM. Unofficially, Magic Kingdom has a capacity of about 95,000 people.  The resorts will be packed to capacity as well.  Many times there will be zero rooms available on property if you wait until the last minute.

A side note is that many times during Spring Break, the morning Extra Magic Hours for Magic Kingdom will be at 7:00 AM.  Yes, I know that is incredibly early, and it is going tough to get the kids out of bed as well as leave the resort by 6:20 AM or so.   If you get to bed early the night before and plan your Mickey wake-up call for the crack of dawn, you can literally get most things in Magic Kingdom done by noon and still have a relaxing afternoon.   It is actually a pretty neat experience to see the sun rise while walking on Main Street U.S.A.  Believe me.   It is well worth it.
