September 2007 |
The Villas at Wilderness Lodge are beautiful. A short boat ride to the Magic Kingdom, or you can get the bus, but the boat is a nice alternative, especially on a hot day. We stayed in a studio and had plenty of room. The rooms are lovely and comfy. We felt at home in this resort. A very relaxing stay, we are so pleased we chose this as our home resort.

Wonderful place to stay. Homely for a deluxe - nobody cares if you wander down to Roaring Forks for your morning coffee in your PJ's. Fantastic staff, great pool area. Has a good bar/lounge and one of the best restaurants in WDW - Artist Point. The rooms are large enough and well equipped - pay the extra for a pool/courtyard view, definitely worth it. Plenty of wildlife to see nearby and feels a million miles from all the theme park chaos, yet is only a 10 minute boat ride to MK. Never had a problem with transport anywhere from this hotel. |

We stayed here last month on honeymoon for 9 nights & absolutely loved it!
Beautiful hotel with amazing theming - a wonderful retreat after the parks, getting off the ferry boat from magic kingdom in the evening and walking back through the grounds & listening to piped cicada noises was a wonderful welcome home. Easy to get links to the monorail also - just get boat next door to contemporary.
The pools were superb & very attractively done, the villa pool is quieter. Views of lake & geyser wonderful - would never know you were in Orlando. The grounds are stunning as is the lobby area & fire/chimney, also the gorgeous bridge over stream starting in lobby.
Whispering canyon a wonderful experience - ate there twice, different both times, staff great fun. Roaring Forks really handy for snacks. Artist Point nice but pricey and not as much atmosphere as the others. Staff great, free self parking, transport good but buses to Animal Kingdom & Blizzard Beach a bit slow but no real gripes.
We loved every minute and enjoyed the luxurious surroundings, it was a real escape and magical atmosphere. We can't get used to starting our day without "big country" music now! We'd go back in a flash & would highly recommend the hotel - we're big fans! |

I thought this hotel was wonderful. Although we only stayed for three nights you realy do get the feeling that its in the wild somewhere and not in the very busy MK resort area. Goes without saying the atention to detail is amazing and on a parr with DAKL. I would recommend it to any one with a love of the wilderness. Simply brilliant.
